
Metallum is the annual departmental fest of the Department of Metallurgy and Materials engineering organised by the Society of Student Metallurgists. 2025 will mark the sixth edition of the fest. Metallum comes from the Latin word for ‘metal’ and refers to anything related to metals, including their study and processing. Students, researchers, and academics come together on this platform to explore the dynamic fields of materials science and metallurgy. The event combines technical challenges, engaging pre-events, and insightful industrial encounters to foster knowledge, collaboration, and practical skills in materials science.In the world of materials science, Metallum helps to inspire creativity, collaboration, and learning, offering participants a chance to grow both personally and professionally. It offers a vibrant and dynamic platform for tackling challenging problem solving competitions, attending inspiring talks, engaging in thought-provoking panel discussions, and forging meaningful connections.
